One Dead, One Injured After Overnight Shooting Outside Allentown Bar


Allentown — Police responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Hanover Avenue, outside Big Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately administered first aid before both victims were transported to a nearby hospital. ‎ ‎

One of the victims, identified as Gibbs, later succumbed to his injuries. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide, citing fatal gunshot wounds as the cause. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
